Around Us:

Algiers Point:

New Orleans:

Algiers is a quiet neighborhood with historic homes, neighborhood bars, and "like mama makes" restaurants. If it gets a little too quiet--don't worry--downtown New Orleans is just a ferry ride away. Oh--and the ferry views are to die for.

Check out the links below and take a walk around the second oldest neighborhood in New Orleans!

If you're not from here, we'll love showing you around. Here are suggestions from the house on what to do in New Orleans.

Got a big group or a wedding party?

Live Music - Every night in the city, live music pours from the bars within walking distance of Compass Point. Check out WWOZ's livewire music schedule, and Satchmo.com's live event schedule.

Antoine's - the unique dining experience at America's oldest restaurant. A true New Orleans traditon, larger parties (10+) get their own private room and stunning waitservice. The food is lavish and decadent french-creole style that encourages sharing, and no one notices you've all been there for three and a half hours.

Canal Place - Michael Kors, Anthropologie, French Connection, Armani, Saks, Mignon Faget, White House, Aveda... Need I go on? OK--have dinner by New Orleans renowned chef Adofo Garcia WHILE watching a movie at Gusto at The Theatres at Canal Place. Don't forget a glass of wine; chef Garcia's selections never disappoint.

Just the two of you?

You'll definitely love New Orleans. Besides restaurants and bars, here are some things you'll love doing together.

The French Quarter boasts tons of art galleries, craft stores, and boutique clothing. Pick out masks, master voodoo, and have your chakras aligned on the same block.

Rent bikes - New Orleans is the perfect city to bike--it's flat and compact. You can cover a lot more ground, keep the breeze blowing, and have a hurricane in your cupholder.

There are eight Bike Rental companies in the quarter; we suggest The American Bike Rental Company.

Magazine Street - Uptown's local shopping and dining at its best. Anywhere along this wonderful street, from Irish Channel to Audubon, you can find dense shopping areas, fine dining, bars & burgers, spas, coffee, antiques, art galleries, craft shops, you name it. From Compass Point, it's best to take an Uber or bike there (or drive!)
